Narrator
Have you heard of Hersenheid Tower the third, people say he was money mad, but that is not true. He was not obsessed by money, rather, he was possessed, it seemed by an evil spirit.
Narrator
With the demon leading him on, he collected the rare and precious from around the world, and bought them to the hotel Hightower. the specimen that fascinated him the most was Shiriki Utundu.

シリキ。ウトゥンドゥ、その偶像の意味は災いを信じよ。その偶像にかかわった者は誰も呪いから逃げられない。
Shiriki Utundu. The idol's meaning is to believe in disaster. None of the people associated with the idol can escape its curse.

父が私に託した釘はアフリカ・コンゴのムトゥンドゥ族の守り神。
The nail father entrusted to me was the guardian god of the African tribe Mutundu.

シリキ・ウトゥンドゥに刺さっていた物だと私は確信した。
I became certain it was one of the things that had been stuck into Shiriki Utundu.

次の疑問が湧く・・ 父はこれをどこで手に入れたのか？ そして、私にこの釘を託した訳は・・？
The following questions boil up.. where did father get this nail? and why did he entrust it to me?

「お父さん、自分の居場所を伝えたかったの？ それともこの釘を誰かに渡して欲しかったの？ お父さん・・」
"Father, did you want to show me where you are? or did you want me to give this nail to somebody? Father.."

父の写真に問い掛けてみても何も返事は聞こえて来なかった。
No answer could be heard even after asking my father's photograph.

偶像の呪い、そんな恐ろしい言葉が浮かんでは消えて行った。
The idols curse, those frightful words floated to mind then went and vanished.

全てのヒントはやはり、父の書斎にある。そう思った私は再び書斎の文献に目を通した。
All the hints are, I'm sure, in father's study. Having thought that, I took another look at the literature in the study.

特に興味を引いたのが偶像の写真が挟んであったホテル・ハイタワーというファイル。
The thing that particularly caught my interest was a file called "Hotel Hightower" which had photographs of the idol inside.

手帳の最初のページに書かれていた三つの言葉を思い出した。「ホテル・ハイタワー エンディコット シリキ・ウトゥンドゥ」
I recalled three words from the first page of the notebook. "Hotel Hightower, Endicot, Shiriki Utundu".

ファイルの中には英語で書かれたレポートが閉じられていた。その最初のページを捲るとある人の顔写真が大きく載っていた。
There was a report written in English enclosed in the file. On turning the first page, there was a photograph of someone's face.

An old gentleman with a full white beard and a sharp glint in the eyes. Below the photograph was written "Harison Hightower the Third."

父の書斎で見つけたホテル・ハイタワーというレポートを辞書を片手に読み始めた私は先ず最初に衝撃的な事件を知る事になる。
When I started to read the report on the Hotel Hightower, dictionary in one hand, the first thing that hit me was that I came to know of a shocking incident.

ホテル・ハイタワーで大惨事、１９００年１月１日の朝の速報、昨晩のホテル・ハイタワーでの出来事にニューヨーク市民達は激しい動揺を隠せないでいる。
Early news report of January the first, 1900 - Huge disaster at the hotel Hightower. The citizens of New York can't hide their unrest concerning the events of last night's incident at hotel Hightower.

新年を迎える最初の瞬間に、まさかあのホテル・ハイタワーが爆発するとは誰も予想しなかった。
Nobody expected such a thing that the Hotel Hightower would explode as we saw in a new year.

ホテル・ハイタワーの向かいの公園でパーティをしていた多くの人達が零時丁度にホテルを包む目も眩むような閃光を目撃した。
The large number of people attending a party in the park facing the Hotel hightower witnessed a dazzling light.

「最初はニューイヤーを迎える演出だと思った。でもそれにしてはあまりにも凄い音だった。」と、ある若者がコメントしていた。
"At first I thought it was a performance put on to welcome the new year, but the noise was too crazy for that." A youth commented.

彼は「ホテル中が緑色の光に包まれた」と続けていた。
He continued that the Hotel was entirely covered in a green light.

緑色・・？ どこかで聞いた事があるような気がした。
Green? I felt like I'd heard of that before.

「悲鳴や叫び声、後はもう地獄のような混乱だった。」
"Screams and shouts, followed by a hellish confusion."

「なんと言ったらいいのか分からないが、その光に怒りのような物を感じた。」
"I don't know what I should say, but I sensed something like anger from that light."

怒り。緑色。私の中でつながった。
Anger. Green. The 2 connected within me.

そう、その偶像を大切に扱わなかった者には偶像の怒りが落ちる。
That's right.. the idol's anger falls upon anyone who doesn't treat it with respect.

シリキ・ウトゥンドゥが怒りの目の覚ます時緑色のエネルギーが流れる。
When Shiriki Utundu opens its eyes of wrath, a green energy flows.

１９００年、新しい年の幕開けの最中に大惨事に見舞われたホテル・ハイタワーとはどんなホテルだったのか。
Hotel Hightower, 1900, visited by great disaster right in the middle of the opening of the new year. Just what kind of Hotel was it?

父のファイルには様々な学者や記者のレポートが収められていた。そういえば、父が私に送ってくれた手帳にもホテルの概要が記されていた。
There were files by various scholars and reporters stored in father's file. Speaking of which, there was also an summary of the hotel Hightower noted in the diary father sent me.

I came up against that name again whilst reading the 'Hotel Hightower' file. Shiriki Utundu's curse.

The person who wrote the report was Manfred Strang, it was written in his profile that he was a reporter for the New York global correspondence.

An earthquake! I grabbed the nail from on top of the desk so it wouldn't fall.

When the earthquake calmed, the bookshelf in front of me had moved greatly.

そして、その向こうにドアが見えた。まるで小さなエレベータの扉のような・・
And beyond that I could see a door. Just like a small elevator's door.

恐る恐る近づいてみると突然ドアが開いた。私は、釘を握り締めながら中に入った。
As I fearfully approached, the door suddenly opened. Whilst gripping the nail, I went inside.

「お父さん・・？」と呟くとドアが閉まった。
I whispered "Father..?" the door shut.

私を包んだ空間が突然落下した。
The atmosphere surrounding me suddenly plummeted.

緑色の光が炸裂して私は気を失ってしまった。
The area exploded in green light and I lost consciousness.
