Harison Hightower the Third, ruthless entrepreneur, infamous adventurer. He was a man obsessed, not by money, no, he was possessed by an unholy desire to collect and hoard, he sought the rare and precious from the far corners of the world and brought them back to the hotel Hightower. But one idol fascinated him most of all.

Shiriki Utundu. Shiriki Utundu. Shiriki Utundu.
冴子 Saeko
シリキ・ウトゥンドゥ、その偶像の意味は災いを信じよ。その偶像にかかわった者は誰も呪いから逃げられない。
Shiriki Utundu. The idol's meaning is to believe in disaster. None of the people associated with the idol can escape its curse.

父の書斎で見つけた秘密のエレベーター、私は釘を握り締めながら中に入った。
I found a secret elevator in father's study. While gripping the nail, I entered.
冴子 Saeko
そのエレベーターが突然落下した。「きゃっ！」緑色の光が炸裂して、私は気を失ってしまった。
The elevator suddenly plummeted. "Ahh!" the area exploded in green light and I lost consciousness.
男の人 Man
「だ・・大丈夫ですか？」
"A.. are you alright?"
冴子 Saeko
私はゆっくり目を覚ました。
I opened my eyes slowly.
冴子 Saeko
ネクタイを締めた金髪の外国人が私を見ていた。
A foreigner wearing a necktie was looking at me.
冴子 Saeko
「あ、はい」
"Ah, yes."
男の人 Man
「こんな所で何をしていたのですか？」
"What were you doing over here?"
冴子 Saeko
なんとか英語は分かった。
I somehow understood English.
冴子 Saeko
彼は誰だろう？ 私はどこにいるんだろう？ 確か父の部屋で気を失ったはずなのに・・
Who is this man? Where am I? I'm certain I lost consciousness in father's room.
男の人 Man
「あなたはどこから来たのですか。」
"Where did you come from?"
冴子 Saeko
「えっあ・・私は・・」
"Ah, er.. I.."
男の人 Man
「その服なんていうかとても変わっている。」
"Those clothes.. how should I put it, they are very different."
冴子 Saeko
「え・・？」
"Huh?"
冴子 Saeko
確かに周りを見渡すと違和感を感じた。
I felt an unease upon looking around.
冴子 Saeko
私はホテルの正面玄関のような所にいて、そこから道行く人を眺めると全ての人が外国人・・
I was at what seemed to be the entrance to the front of a hotel, and the people walking the street were all foreign.
冴子 Saeko
男性はスリーピースのスーツを着込み、女性はドレス姿に帽子をかぶっている。
The men wearing three piece suits, and the women wearing dresses and a hat.
冴子 Saeko
「ここはどこ？今は？」
"Where is this? What time is it?"
冴子 Saeko
ふと目の前の男性が手にしている新聞が目に入った。
Then I noticed the newspaper the man in front of me was holding.
冴子 Saeko
日付１９１２年８月。１９１２年？！
The date was August, 1912. 1912?!

私が「その新聞を見せてください」と言うと彼は「今日の新聞が何か？」と言った。
When I asked him "Please show me that newspaper.", he replied with "Is something interesting about today's paper?".
冴子 Saeko
「今日？１９１２年が？」
"1912's paper is... today's?"
男の人 Man
「あ・・あなたはどこから来たのですか？」
"W.. where did you come from?"
冴子 Saeko
「え・・？」
"huh?"
男の人 Man
「どうも、この世界の人じゃないみたいだ。」
"It seems you are not of this world."
冴子 Saeko
「この世界・・？」
"This world..?"
男の人 Man
「やっぱり、ホテル・ハイタワーの魔力なのだろうか・・」
"I knew it... could this be the powers of Hotel Hightower.."
冴子 Saeko
「今・・ なんて言ました？」
"What did you just say?"
男の人 Man
「え？ ホテル・ハイタワーの魔力。」
"Huh? the powers of Hotel Hightower."
冴子 Saeko
「ホテル・ハイタワー、タワー・オブ・テラー。」
"Hotel hightower, Tower of Terror."
男の人 Man
「ええ、そうです。」
"Yes, that's right."
冴子 Saeko
私は初めて目の前の建物を見た。
I looked at the building in front of me for the first time.
冴子 Saeko
父が手帳に書いていた絵と全く同じ建物。ホテル・ハイタワー
It was exactly the same building as father wrote in his notebook. Hotel Hightower.
男の人 Man
「知っていて、ここに入った訳ではないんですか？」
"You mean you didn't come here knowingly?"
冴子 Saeko
「あ・・私は・・・ 私は・・・」
"Ah.. I.. I..."
男の人 Man
「何を握り締めているのですか？」
"What's that you're holding?"
冴子 Saeko
「え？」
"Huh?"
男の人 Man
「その右手」
"In your right hand."
冴子 Saeko
「あ、これはただの釘です。」
"Ah, this is just a nail."
冴子 Saeko
私はゆっくり手を開いた、手の平に父から送られた釘が載っていた
I slowly opened my hand, the nail father sent me lay in my palm.
冴子 Saeko
その釘を見た金髪の男性は驚きのあまり目を見開いた。
On seeing the nail, the blond man opened his eyes in astonishment.
男の人 Man
「これは、シリキ・ウトゥンドゥの釘ではないですか」
"Isn't this Shiriki Utundu's nail!?"
冴子 Saeko
その男性がいきなり釘を触ろうとするので、反射的に私は手を閉じた。
The man suddenly tried to touch the nail, so I reflexively closed my hand.
冴子 Saeko
「どうしてその名前を・・」
"Why do you know that name.."
冴子 Saeko
男性は私の顔を真っ直ぐ見てこう言った
The man looked straight at me and spoke.
マンフレッド Manfred
「私の名前はマンフレッド・ストラング、ニューヨーク・グローブ通信の記者です。
"My name is Manfred Strang, I'm a reporter for New York Global correspondence.

目覚めた私がいきなり出会った人はストラングと名乗る新聞記者だった。
The man I met after waking up was a newspaper reporter called Strang.

その名前を以前どこかで聞いたことがある。
I had heard that name somewhere before.

あれはシリキ・ウトゥンドゥの呪い。
It was the curse of Shiriki Utundu.
マンフレッド Manfred
「あなたは信じてくれるんですね。」
"It seems you believe me."
冴子 Saeko
「あたしは・・」
"I.."
マンフレッド Manfred
「その釘をもう一度見せてください。」
"Please show me that nail once again."
冴子 Saeko
私は少し躊躇った、この釘をぞんざいに扱う人は皆居なくなる。
I hesitated, everyone who carelessly handles this nail disappears.
マンフレッド Manfred
「大丈夫、私はこの釘の恐ろしさを知っています。」
"It's OK. I know the dread of this nail."
冴子 Saeko
「はい。」私は古びた釘をストラングに渡した。
"OK." I handed the old nail to Strang.
マンフレッド Manfred
「なんだか熱を持っているようだ。」
"It seems to be hot."
冴子 Saeko
彼は今までのどの人よりもその釘を大切に扱ってくれた。
He handled the nail more carefully than any person before him.
冴子 Saeko
「ありがとう。」
"Thank you."
マンフレッド Manfred
「なぜ泣くのですか？」
"why are you crying?"
冴子 Saeko
「父が・・父が居なくなる前に送ってくれた大切な物だから。 私、分かりました」
"Its something important that father.. father sent me it before he disappeared. I understand now."
マンフレッド Manfred
「私には全く分からないのですが。」
"I'm sure I truly couldn't understand."
冴子 Saeko
「父の意思を感じました。」
"I sensed my father's intent."
マンフレッド Manfred
「お父さんの気持ち？」
"Your fathers feelings?"
冴子 Saeko
「あたしはどうやらタイムスリップしてしまったようです。」
"It seems I've made a time-slip."
マンフレッド Manfred
「タイムスリップ？」
"Time slip?"
冴子 Saeko
「ここに来てやらなければいけない事、それをやり遂げらればあたしはきっと元の世界に戻れます。」
"I came here and there's something I have to do, I'm sure that if I can accomplish that then I'll be able to go back to my world."

父が私に託した釘はパスポートだった。私を１９１２年にいざなう為の
The nail father entrusted to me was a passport to call me to 1912.
冴子 Saeko
父はこの釘を然るべき場所に返して欲しかったに違いない。
Father must have wanted me to return the nail to it's proper place.
冴子 Saeko
それはどこ？
Where is that?
冴子 Saeko
それは恐らくホテル・ハイタワー。
It was probably the Hotel Hightower.
マンフレッド Manfred
「あなたの名前は？」
"What's you name?"
冴子 Saeko
「あーすみません、名乗らずに。冴子です、小早川冴子。」
"Ah, excuse me for not telling you. I'm Saeko, Saeko Kobayakawa."
マンフレッド Manfred
「冴子さん。」
"Miss Saeko."
冴子 Saeko
「ストラングさん、今このホテル・ハイタワーはどうなっているんですか？」
"Mr Strang, what is the Hotel Hightower's current situation?"
マンフレッド Manfred
「それが大変なことになりそうなんです。このホテル・ハイタワーに一般のお客さんを入れるツアーを組むという企画が実現しそうなのです。」
"It's about to become quite terrible. A plan to run a tour for the general public in Hotel Hightower seems about to be realized."
冴子 Saeko
「ツアー？」
"A tour?"
マンフレッド Manfred
「ニューヨーク市保存協会という団体がガイドの役割をするんです」
"A group called the New York city preservation society will be giving guided tours."
マンフレッド Manfred
「このホテルは建築学的、あるいは考古学的に意味のある展示物を惜しみなく提供してくれる、それは間違いありません。ですが・・・」
"There is no question they will fully present items of architectural or archaeological significance. But.."
冴子 Saeko
「呪い。」
"The curse."
マンフレッド Manfred
「そうです、呪いです。その恐ろしさをその協会は分かってくれない。」
"That's right, the curse. This association will not understand it's dread."
冴子 Saeko
「このホテルの中にもしかしたら、偶像があるのですか？」
"Is there, perhaps, an idol within this Hotel?"
マンフレッド Manfred
「シリキ・ウトゥンドゥ。」
"Shiriki Utundu."
冴子 Saeko
「ええ」
"Yes."
マンフレッド Manfred
「恐らく・・」
"Most likely.."
冴子 Saeko
「絶対止めさせなければ」
"We have to stop them."
冴子 Saeko
「ツアーを進めている団体の代表者に会いに行きましょう。その人の名前は？」
"Let's go to meet the representative proceeding with the tour. What is this person's name?"
マンフレッド Manfred
「ベアトリス・ローズ・エンディコット。」
"Beatris Rose Endicot."
冴子 Saeko
エンディコット・・・父の手帳に記されていた名前。
Endicot.. the name written in father's notebook.
